Avi Weisfogel, a New Jersey dentist, launched a GoFundMe campaign for Operation Smile, an international medical charity that provides free medical services for children suffering from facial deformities. Weisfogel hopes to raise $2,000 for the charity.
Avi Weisfogel became a dentist because he has “always been a fan of nice teeth,” and the profession allows him to provide aid to people suffering from oral pain. “The amount of people I get to help out every year is astounding and so rewarding,” says Weisfogel, “I couldn’t have picked a better profession if I tried.”
Deciding to start a GoFundMe campaign for Operation Smile was an obvious choice for the New Jersey native. The mission of Operation Smile is to provide safe surgical care for children who are in need all around the globe. The men and women behind Operation Smile believe that every child deserves access to the best surgical care. “The need is great,” says Bill Magee, founder and CEO, “We have to continue to do more, we have to challenge ourselves to do more.”
Weisfogel also believes that his patients deserve the best quality care available. A self-proclaimed “continuing education enthusiast,” he completes nearly 200 hours of continuing education courses every year to ensure that he is offering his patients the best, most up-to-date procedures.
Weisfogul graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1997. He currently owns three practices in New Jersey, where he lives with his wife and six children.
