Dr. Saad Saad is a retired pediatric surgeon with over 40 years of experience. Before retirement, Saad was the Co-Medical Director and Surgeon-in-Chief of Hovnanian Children Hospital. In his many years of experience, Dr. Saad Saad has performed thousands of complicated pediatric surgeries, many with procedures that he created and perfected himself. Along with creating procedures and techniques, he is the holder of two patents for inventions he designed. A philanthropist as well, Dr. Saad Saad participated in 8 mission trips to Jerusalem to treat disadvantaged children in the area.

 

The Kuwait raised Dr. Saad Saad is a Palestinian refugee and one of eight children in his family. Of these eight children, he is one of three surgeons, a teacher, and four engineers. Dr. Saad Saad has four children himself with his wife of more than 42 years. Their children consist of a lawyer, two surgeons, and an ICU nurse. Success appears to run in the family despite Dr. Saad Saad being raised an impoverished refugee. He was mentored in South Carolina be the pediatric Surgeon Dr. H Biemann Othersen. Through him, he learned to treat all children with kindness and hard work no matter who they may be, where they came from, or how much money they had. As a surgeon, Dr. Saad Saad believes in treating patients with the care they would expect for his own children.

 

Dr. Saad Saad earned his medical degree as salutatorian at Cairo University School of Medicine in 1971 before completed a residency in the United States at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In 1982 and 1984 he became a Fellow at the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is accredited in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

 

In 2014, he was awarded the Compassionate Doctor Certification and the Patients’ Choice Award. These two awards are presented to physicians based on their patient ratings through multiple websites. The Patients’ Choice award was given to Dr. Saad Saad due to his close to perfect scores while the Compassionate Doctor Certification was presented for his scores in bedside manner.

 

Dr. Saad Saad believes in hard work and research to guarantee success and results. He’s excited to see where research on genetics will lead treating and predicting chronic illness. Insistent that he had no other choice but to do well in medical school, he graduated second in his class with honors from Cairo University.
