A number of Sussex Health Care staff were awarded high-level credentials by the University of Chichester. Six workers from the care and support home received a Level 5 Professional Practice in Social Care Diploma. The qualification takes a year to complete and is open for persons who have completed Level 4 Registered Managers Award or Higher Apprenticeship. It also offers an alternative route for persons who wish to achieve a high education qualification that can allow them to go on and take their BA degree studies.


Anne Tuckley from the education department at Sussex Heath Care stated that the institution was extremely proud and happy about this fantastic achievement as it continues learning the challenge of working and learning. The training itself had been done as a joint venture between the Sussex health care and the University at the institution’s training academy based at Warnham, West Sussex. Dr. Shafik Sachedina, the proprietor of Sussex Health, praised his staff for a job well done. He stated that the knowledge they had received would go a long way in improving the life of the company’s service users and have a positive impact on their lives.

About Dr. Shafik Sachedina

Shafik Sachedina is a dental surgeon who hails from Purley Surrey. He was born in 1950 in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. He attended the Guy’s Hospital Medical and Dental School at the University of London. He holds a British nationality and lives in England. Dr. Sachedina is involved in about four companies/institutions among them the Sussex Health Care Limited, Horsham Clinic Limited, Islamic Publications Limited, The Institute of Ismaili Studies and Imara U.K. Limited. Dr. Sachedina has practiced as a dental surgeon in England for a long time. He has over the years developed entrepreneurial interests in the health sector and the Sussex Health Care based in the UK is one of them. The institution offers care services to the elderly persons in society.

Dr. Sachenadi holds other positions like being the head of department at Jamati Institutions, Aiglemont, France in the Secretariat of His Highness the Aga Khan. He is charged with the responsibility of coordinating the programmes and activities of the company institutions found in 16 areas. He works for the Aga Khan and Jamati Institutions on a voluntary basis. This is in keeping up with the long standing tradition of the institutions to offering voluntary service. He sits at the Board of Governors of the institute and other additional positions in his work for the community and Ismaili Imamat.
