DAMAC Properties, one of the foremost real estate development companies in the world, is the brainchild of Founder, and current Chairman, Hussain Sajwani. Mr. Sajwani is a graduate of The University of Washington, where he took up Economics and Industrial Engineering. Immediately after graduating, Mr. Sajwani left the United States, taking a position with Abu Dhabi Gas Industries, where he would stay for two years before venturing off on his own to create, what is currently known as, Global Logistics Services. Today, Global Logistics Services serves more than 150,000 meals each to day to a number of regions throughout Africa, The Middle East and the Commonwealth of Independent States. In 2002, Hussain Sajwani launched DAMAC Properties, and since then, has been the primary figure behind its exponential success, and considerable expansion. Today, the prominent entrepreneur continues to improve upon his stellar track record, growing the company with his acute business acumen and eye for future markets. He recently sat down to discuss his career and a few of the processes that help to keep him ahead of the pack.
The idea for DAMAC Properties stemmed from his time working with his father after school as a youth. It was at this point in his life, that the spirit of entrepreneurship was instilled in him – an attribute that he has maintained throughout the course of his career. In order to bring his concepts to fruition, Mr. Sajwani is constantly looking to the future, often imagining the infrastructure and economy of Dubai in the next 20 years. In recent years, Mr. Sajwani has become increasingly interested in the growth of social media, and how marketing has been smoothly integrated into the platform. In his opinion, the prospects associated with social media are endless, as it now allows companies to communicate with their target audiences on a 24-hour basis. In order to consistently remain productive as an entrepreneur, Mr. Sajwani utilizes travel to expand his horizons. His ability to go from place to place affords him the opportunity to visualize the world from a number of different perspectives.
