Entrepreneur Billy McFarland’s exclusive new social club, Magnises, is helping millennials connect and build networks with online and offline businesses. And thousands are discovering that a flash of the club’s unique black card, which all members carry, is opening doors to deals, bargains, and opportunities.
Founded in 2014, Magnises is targeted to young professionals between 21 and 35 years old, who work in the financial, fashion, tech, and other high-visibility sectors. More than 6,000 members have paid the $250 annual fee and passed the Magnises team approval process to carry the club’s signature black metal card.
If you’re interested in becoming a Magnises member, the firm you work for can play an important role. McFarland said the club is always seeking new partnership opportunities but is very selective about the firms with which it works. “We want to build a brand our members trust,” he said.
Billy McFarland, who at just 23 a millennial himself, said Magnises is intended to be “a professional and social bridge” that can bring together people from diverse fields to build profitable partnerships and networks.
Magnises has developed partnerships with a wide variety of top-drawer venues like New York’s Catch and La Esquina restaurants and Finale and Goldbar clubs, as well as entertainment facilities like cruises, helicopter trips, and more in order to offer members special deals on events and networking opportunities.
Members can take advantage of Magnises partnership deals to entertain fellow members, building social ties while doing valuable business networking. The club also holds regular cocktail hours and late-night events for members, many of which take place at Magnises headquarters in a penthouse at the Hotel on Rivington on New York’s Lower East Side. A typical club event may draw as many as 200 members, McFarland said.
There are plans to expand Magnises into 10 more cities and Billy McFarland said some partnership deals are already in place, including one with the Embassy Row Hotel in Washington, DC.
