There have been several recent developments at OSI Food Solutions, for a start, a chicken production plant from Tyson Food Group was purchased in Chicago. In Toledo, Spain an extensive expansion process was just concluded, and the result is doubling of the volume of chicken products process. The company was not satisfied but they concluded the purchase of Baho Foods, another large producer of meat products based in the Netherlands, this not only increased the foothold OSI has on Europe, but also expanded the company’s asset base and drew them closer to being the largest firm of its kind. Again, in 2017, ISO Food Solutions acquired Flagship Europe, a food supplier in the UK, and renamed it Creative Foods Europe. The company has franchises in 17 countries.
A tidy sum of €17 million was invested at its Toledo facility, and this boosted the production capacity of processed chicken products from 12,000 tons to 24,000 tons annually. The expansion has enhanced the raised the total production capacity of the OSI Food Solutions plant to more than 45,000 tons of quality meats products. The company alone does not enjoy the benefits, servicing the production lines and related operations mean a total of new jobs will be added to the existing workforce, this includes the position of product development manager that was created recently.
As icing on the cake, OSI Food Solutions, UK was among the 18 organizations that were feted with a Globe of Honor in 2016 from the British Safety Council, this was to recognize the company’s efforts in the management of environmental risks. Considering that an organization had to achieve five stars in the British Council’s Environmental Audit the previous year, this award truly told of the culture at OSI Food Solutions, excellence in management that runs straight from the abattoir to the boardroom.
